Jabari Parker Signs 2-Year $40 Million Deal With Bulls

It looks like Jabari Parker is headed to home to Chicago.

The second year of Parker's deal is reportedly a team option, which, given Parker's previous injury history, is smart from the Bulls' perspective.

No word on the amount of the deal being discussed, or if the Bucks will match, but the move is a curious one for Chicago. The Bucks rescinded a qualifying offer for Parker last night, allowing Parker to become an unrestricted free agent.

A Chicago native, Parker starred for local prep powerhouse Simeon. Parker spent his first four National Basketball Association seasons with the Milwaukee Bucks, has torn his left ACL twice.

Parker, 23, has played his entire career thus far with the Milwaukee Bucks but could switch teams this offseason.

As reported by ESPN, Jabari Parker has been signed by the Chicago Bulls to a two-year $40 million contract.

The second overall pick in 2014, Parker spent four seasons with the Bucks, averaging 15.3 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game while shooting 49 percent from the field. His most recent injury occurred in February 2017, which caused him to miss all but 31 games of last season.

Bartelstein praised the Bucks for "working side-by-side with us". Regardless, Parker is seen as one of the better players who can come off the bench in this league. Parker has an enormous amount of talent when healthy, and the Bulls had money this year to spend anyway. He figures to start at small forward with Kris Dunn and Zach LaVine in the backcourt, Lauri Markkanen at power forward and either rookie Wendell Carter Jr. or veteran Robin Lopez at center.

The Bulls announced they had released guard Julyan Stone and forward Paul Zipser.
