Bills OG Incognito confirms sudden retirement

Report: Bills' Richie Incognito says he's going to retire

BUFFALO, N.Y. Buffalo Bills offensive lineman Richie Incognito said he's "done" in a text to the Associated Press amid reports he is considering retirement after 11 National Football League seasons.

Earlier Tuesday morning, he told Peter King of The MMQB he was "strongly considering retiring" but "may return for one last season, at the right price".

Clearly, losing Incognito and the other linemen is going to impact McCoy, who's been one of the NFL's best running backs the past few years in Buffalo running behind them.

Richie Incognito sent out a vague tweet, leading to speculation about what it meant. That's it. It's been a long career.

Incognito's decision to retire comes a week after he fired his agent, David Dunn, in a post on Twitter. My liver and kidneys are shutting down.

It was in Miami that Richie found some real trouble, as he was accused of bullying black teammate Jonathan Martin.

Asked whether there was a chance he'd change his mind, Incognito told the newspaper, "Absolutely not".

Incognito told Buffalo News reporter Vic Carrucci: "I'm, done". Incognito said he approached Ngakoue at the Pro Bowl and apologized.

If this is indeed it for Incognito, it has been an odd 11-year career. Martin's post showed a shotgun and specifically mentioned Incognito, former teammate Mike Pouncey as well as a private Los Angeles prep school Martin once attended.

Incognito, who turns 35 in July, made the Pro Bowl four times, including three times with the Bills.

Incognito would be the third starter from last year's offensive line to depart Buffalo this offseason. Center Eric Wood in January announced the end of his career because of a neck injury, and left tackle Cordy Glenn was traded to the Cincinnati Bengals in March.
