Philly donut shop bans Boston Cremes until after the Super Bowl

Bud Light

The company promised free beer to everyone in Philadelphia if the Eagles win.

If the Eagles defeat the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII, Eagles fans will be celebrating on the house, thanks to offensive tackle Lane Johnson and Bud Light.

The Official NFL Shop shot off a playful tweet to Long Monday afternoon, suggesting that its T-shirt of a dog wearing an Eagles collar would "go really well with [his] mask", a reference to the now-famous German Shepherd masks the players first donned after their divisional-game win against the Atlanta Falcons. Bud Light's ads featuring a medieval king, queen and their subjects raising their beers in an enthusiastic toast have been all over television for the past six months. "I think if we have a few big years and make the playoffs, if we win a Super Bowl, I'm giving out beer to everybody".

Johnson said last week that he's raised more than $100,000 for the cause.

Philadelphia Eagles' Rasul Douglas takes the field before the NFL football NFC championship game against the Minnesota Vikings Sunday, Jan. 21, 2018, in Philadelphia.

Bud Light has changed its catchphrase of "Dilly Dilly" to "Philly Philly" - just this once.

While it would likely be quite costly, it's a smart marketing play by the Bud Light folks. Other than rooting for Tom Brady to save you from having to give 1.5 million rowdy Philadelphians a free beer?
