Integral Announces The World's First 512GB microSD Card

512GB microSDXC card coming next month from UK's Integral Memory

This one actually beats the 400GB SanDisk Ultra microSDXC UHS that was introduced previous year.

The memorably-named Integral 512GB microSDXC V10, UHS-I U1 card, ahem, meets the Video Speed Class 10 (V10) standard. But Integral's transfer speeds are slightly slower, with a maximum of 80MB/s compared with SanDisk's 100MB/s. In fact, according to our best guess using this list, you likely could download the entire current Nintendo Switch library to this card-and still have about 50 GB to spare.

Integral Memory's Marketing Manager James Danton notes: "Consumers have been clear in their call for increased storage, as mobile devices have become essential to many in everyday life". Even before we hit the 1TB storage milestone, there are chances of 750GB cards appearing.

Let us know what you like about Geek by taking our survey.

Do you think Integral Memory's 512GB microSD card is overkill?

On a supported Android Smartphones and Tablets, users can easily add extra memory storage space just by inserting a microSD card to the device on the given microSD card slot. The company says that this 512GB microSD card is slated to release in February this year. I'm thinking back to the horror of picking up proprietary Vita memory cards, shivering at the idea of buying them marked up and one day, out-of-print/circulation.

There is always an issue with memory on our devices. The pricing details of the card are not yet known.

SanDisk makes 400GB microSD versions, and Samsung has 256GB cards available.

Integral believes that though cloud storage has taken a toll on the memory card, users still go for cards for lifestyle reasons.
