The interior ministry Saturday issued a notification regarding the deployment of Pakistan Army in the federal capital after clashes between security forces and Tehreek activists turned violent. Reports say scores of protesters and police personnel have been injured in the clashes.

Police, FC and other law enforcement agencies finally launched a crackdown on Saturday morning, resulting in a showdown between two sides. "TV channels are advised to exhibit utmost sensitivity regarding the matter and refrain from live coverage", it added.
