Ranking the 2018 Hall of Fame semifinalists: Randy Moss on top

4 former Broncos named 2018 Hall of Fame semifinalists

Former Michigan standouts Steve Hutchinson and Ty Law are among 27 semifinalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame's class of 2018. Ordinarily, there are just 25 semifinalists, but there was a three-way tie for the last spot this year.

Moss played for the Vikings from 1998-2004 and in 2010.

This is the sixth straight year that Lynch has made it to the group of semifinalists, beginning with his first year of eligibility in 2013.

Others in their initial year of eligibility who made this cut are Brian Urlacher, Richard Seymour, Steve Hutchinson and Ronde Barber.

James, Bruce, Jacoby, Faneca, Boselli, Mawae, Mecklenburg, Atwater, Lynch, Law, Johnson and Coryell all have been finalists at least once.

Dawkins played at Raines High before attending Clemson.

As the NFL's 12th all time career leading rusher with 12,246 rushing yards, James is the only non-active running back in the NFL's top 16 career rushing yards leaders that is not now enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

He finished his career with the Denver Broncos, playing three seasons for them before retiring after the 2011 season.

"Jim's defense was designed around Dawk and his playmaking ability, " former Eagles safety Quintin Mikell, who played alongside Dawkins, said past year.

- Barber is the only player in National Football League history to finish his career with at least 45 interceptions and at least 25 sacks. He ranks third in franchise history with his 69.5 sacks as a Buccaneer, and his 122.0 career sacks are the second-most for any Hall-eligible player who is not already enshrined. Only Jerry Rice has more (22,895).

Of course, 7 of those seasons were with the Colts where James rushed for 9,226 rushing yards on 2,188 carries and 64 rushing touchdowns.
