Vikings add Teddy Bridgewater to active roster; Sam Bradford to IR

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

After opting for nonsurgical rehabilitation methods, Bradford underwent a knee scope by Dr. James Andrews on Tuesday, a procedure that was viewed as a last resort. However, now into the second half of the regular season, the Vikings could elect to place him on the injured reserve list, officially ending his season.

After being activated from the team's reserve/PUP list, Bridgewater wasn't even limited in his first practice back.

Keenum replaced Bradford in the Bears game and led Minnesota to a 20-17 victory, and he's won each of his four starts since then.

Multiple reports have indicated that Case Keenum will likely start this week against Washington. Bradford sought out other options and received unsuccessful Regenokine treatments in October in hopes of reducing the pain and inflammation. He'll earn $18 million in 2017 from the Vikings with a $14 million base salary and a $4 million roster bonus.

Bridgewater missed the entire 2016 season after dislocating his knee during a preseason workout.

While Sloter has yet to play a down in 2017, sources confirmed the Vikings did not want to risk losing him by releasing him to the waivers market. The Vikings quarterback has come a long way since he suffered a dislocated knee and torn ACL on August 30, 2016.

The Vikings have a decision to make at quarterback.

Bradford, acquired in a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles after Bridgewater's injury past year, has been battling an ailing knee since leading the Vikings to a 29-19 win over the New Orleans Saints in the 2017 opener.
