Google Launches 'Pay With Google'

64 percent of Android devices protected with enhanced security on Chrome

The new feature, which is going live for Android users in the United Kingdom and will be compatible with a selection of online stores and food outlets, enables users make purchases with any of the debit or credit cards already linked to their Google account.

For authentication, you will have to, of course, verify the transaction with a security code or using Google's own proprietary 2FA on your Android phone. To continue, you just tap the card you want to use, and Google sends this information along with your shipping address to the merchant, who then handles the rest of the transaction.

As of now, only a handful of shops support Pay with Google, including Dice in the UK, Kayak in the U.S., and iFood in Brazil.

GOOGLE has launched 'Pay with Google', a new service that looks to streamline online purchases made through Android devices.

Also, 71 of the top 100 sites on the web use HTTPS by default, up from 37 a year ago, according to the post.

So how does the Pay with Google work? All the information is fetched from your Google account which saves you from typing this information every time you checkout on a new website or app.

The API enables online payments via a variety of Google services, including Google Play, YouTube, Chrome, and Android Pay.

In a blogpost on the release, Pali Bhat, VP of Product Management, Payments, says: "Back in May, we shared a sneak peek of how paying with Google would help you skip all that".

Today Google officially announced Pay With Google.

Starting today Google is rolling out "Pay with Google" to Android devices and the Chrome browser.

There's plenty more lined up, though, with the likes of AirBnb, Just Eat, Hungry House, Papa Johns and Deliveroo listed as "coming soon".

The current payment partners include PayPal's Braintree, Stripe, Vantiv, Worldpay, Adyen, and Groupe Paysafe.
